John is an experienced Senior Manager with a proven track record in demanding industries.  A Fellow of the Institute of Management Accountants, John spent his early career in various financial management positions within engineering, shipbuilding and food manufacturing businesses.

In the early 1990’s , he moved to Aberdeen  as Finance Director  of an engineering consultancy firm before spending 13 years with ABB Oil and Gas, a global oilfield service provider.  In 1993 John was transferred to Singapore to become VP of the Asia Pacific Drilling Products Operation and has been in Operational and General Management  positions ever since, with all but two of these years working within “challenging” divisions.

In 2004 John left ABB and bought a 50% stake in Commercial Microbiology Ltd, an oilfield services provider. He spent 4 years as Managing Director of CML before selling the business to the Intertek group of companies for a significant enhancement in shareholder value.  He then continued as MD with CML for an 18 month period to ensure an effective handover.

John established Oilfield Nano Solutions Limited in 2008 and the Company is currently testing prototypes that will revolutionise flow-metering within the oil and process industries.  John has been an associate of Symphony since 2007 and was appointed Partner in September 2011.
