A new business turnaround firm

In 2002, Ian Mackay established Corporate Solutions (Scotland) Ltd, now Symphony Corporate Limited. Its mission was to assist the turnaround and refinancing of underperforming and distressed companies. Having known Ian for several years, Allan McLaughlin joined the company in 2004. From 2002 until 2006, Ian and Allan successfully participated in a number of acquisitions with, and on behalf of, clients in a diverse range of sectors. In mid-2007, the Board of Symphony was augmented by the appointment of an additional director, Paul Slater.

Since becoming Symphony Corporate, we have successfully invested in, and turned around’ eleven businesses and advised on many other transactions.
